INTRODUCTION

About

About

Business Design Centre

Business Design Centre

Originally built as the Royal Agricultural Hall in 1862, the Business Design Centre is now a Grade II listed conference and exhibition venue in Islington, its Mezzanine holding up to 1,500 delegates alongside further spaces including the Gallery Hall and Atrium and a dedicated Auditorium. The venue hosts more than 80 exhibitions and 250 conferences a year, and has operated as a carbon neutral venue for over a decade.

A building that moves this comfortably between exhibitions, conferences and award ceremonies needs production with the same versatility. Lexa’s approach at the Business Design Centre would be built around the Mezzanine’s exhibition-standard flexibility, with sound, lighting and staging that can shift from a trade show floor to a formal conference layout within the same day.

With events ranging from trade shows to formal conferences, Lexa’s approach to sound would prioritise systems that work equally well across an open exhibition floor and a seated auditorium format.

Sound for Exhibitions and Conferences

Service delivery visual

Presentation technology across the Mezzanine and Gallery Hall would need to compete for attention on a busy exhibition floor, and Lexa’s approach would design content and screen placement with that in mind.

./02

Screens for High-Traffic Exhibition Halls

Working within a Grade II listed structure, lighting design would need to respect the building’s original ironwork while still delivering the bright, functional states exhibitions and conferences demand.

Staging built for the Mezzanine’s 1,500 delegate capacity would need genuine flexibility, moving between exhibition stands, conference plenaries and formal awards presentations.

Staging for Award Ceremonies and Conferences

For conferences and product launches reaching wider audiences, Lexa’s hybrid streaming approach would connect the venue’s events to remote delegates without disrupting exhibition traffic.

./05

Hybrid and Live Streaming Support

With exhibitions, conferences and smaller meetings often running simultaneously across the site, production management would need to coordinate several distinct events without overlap.
